“Whoever Trump settles on for his Cabinet pick will be tasked with enormous responsibilities and likely face fierce opposition during the Senate confirmation process by progressive senators like Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., particularly if the nominee comes from a Wall Street background, according to Alex Brill of the American Enterprise Institute. ‘This won’t be a job for a newbie. Experience will be essential,’ he told Tax Analysts. The next Treasury secretary will have to ‘convey strong leadership capabilities to financial markets globally’ and ‘be capable of supporting and executing Trump’s policies with respect to China’s currency, global capital markets, and taxes,’ he said.”
